I am a retired criminal defense lawyer from South Carolina now living in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Although my area of expertise is criminal defense and social justice issues, I am willing and able to write on a wide range of related and some unrelated topics.
I have more than ten year's experience in legal research and brief writing at the trial and appellate level, and I have been providing legal research and writing services to attorneys since I closed my office in 2015.
I am a former president of the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. I am a graduate of Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyer's College in Wyoming. I was certified in criminal trial advocacy by the National Board of Legal Specialty.
I was certified in standardized field sobriety testing, AV rated by Martindale Hubbell and received a 10.00/ Superb rating from Avvo. I also served as Associate Editor for the South Carolina Law Review.
